Carried Away
Maybe I have gotten a little "carried away" (thanks Andrea O. - so catchy!) with my bag making, but it is a creative outlet for me.

Another iPod Fan
Two nights ago we discovered that George is also a big iPod fan. I guess he is following in his dad and brother's footsteps. Notice how mad he is in the second picture when Jim took the iPod from him for just a second. I wonder where he gets that temper?

April Fool's Day
I don't usually play April Fools Day tricks - mostly because I don't always remember. This year I decided to have a special trick dinner. I did this once before many years ago in California and we invited the missionaries over. This year we enjoyed this meal with my brother and his family (Brookes Family). The kids (and adults) had fun seeing what crazy thing was next on the menu.
These recipes came from a magazine called Quick Cooking.
The Menu:
Main Dish: Mashed potato and meatloaf cake - I thought it turned out pretty good.
Drink: Raspberry Jello - it was really funny when I told everyone to take a drink - they tried sucking through the straw, but nothing would come up. I finally said "April Fools!" and then Samuel kept asking why his drink wouldn't come up through the straw. It was really funny. I wish I would have had it on video - so funny.
Dessert: Taco Salad Ice cream bowls - these were fun to make and could almost pass for real taco salads.

It really has been a year!
George turned one last month. It amazes me how fast a year can go by. George is such a sweet, happy boy. We love having him as part of our family. I love to hear him giggle and laugh. It is one of my favorite sounds. I don't know who was more excited for George's birthday - Samuel or George! Samuel kept saying that we needed to decorate with balloons. Luckily grandma came to the rescue with decorations complete with crepe paper streamers and balloons of all sizes. We had a lot of fun.
George enjoyed eating his cupcake.
YUM!
We had our friend Liz over to help us celebrate and she brought a great gift that George really liked. Some sensory ball toys and a cute book. Of course the paper bag and tissue paper were the real hit!
We love you George!

Sigh. . .
Why do they wait until AFTER you just clean the bathroom to pee like a gushing waterfall while the toilet seat LID is down?
