Friday evening Jim and Samuel headed up to Sundance Ski Resort for a night of skiing. Samuel has been wanting to go for a while and we just could never get it coordinated. We finally figured out a time that would work and got him all ready for it. We weren't sure how he would do, but he seemed to do pretty good. We signed him up for a group lesson - but it worked out nicely that he was the only student signed up! So he had a one on one lesson with a great instructor. He is excited to go back and try it out again. I think I may have been more nervous for him than he was. After using the tow rope for most of the night, he and Jim and the instructor took one trip up the ski lift and down the slope. He had a great time.

Samuel with his instructor (she was great with him)
There were (thankfully) no injuries on the slopes, but as he was walking to return the ski/boot rentals he fell off a rock that he was climbing on (with his ski boots on) and scraped up his face.
After skiing Jim and Samuel stopped to get some frozen yogurt (I guess he wasn't cold enough after being outside in cold weather all evening) and hot dogs. It was really fun to hear him talk about his first ski trip. Hopefully the first of many.

After Years of Waiting . . .
Jim finally got his iphone. He has been waiting for the iPhone to become available on Verizon for several years and the day finally arrived (February 3). He set his alarm clock so that he could get online and purchase it as soon as it was physically possible (1:00 AM). He was thrilled when he found out it was to arrive the following Monday. Although I think the weekend before went really slow for him. He is now a happy owner of his iPhone 4 and seems very content and pleased with it.
