It's That Time of Year Again
So rewarding to go out, pick veggies from your garden, and then bottle them. Not to mention how yummy they taste.

Last Evening of Vacation
After a short stay in Camas we began our journey home.
Some fun sights on our travel home.
We stayed overnight in Meridian Idaho. We had pizza and went to sleep.
Great ending to a wonderful (hopefully annual) family vacation. One of the best parts - Jim left his cell phone home. Ahh the joys of vacation. Now back to reality.

Camas Washington
After the coast of Oregon we headed to Camas Washington to visit our great friends Brian and Sheri and their girls. It was so nice to see them! We had another great visit there. Samuel and Jayden had a blast together. One of the days we were there they took us for a walk around their neighborhood where there were endless amounts of wild blackberries. I have heard about how blackberries grow wild up there, but I never imagined how many. They tasted so yummy too!

Sheri and Jasmyn
Jasmyn being so sweet and sharing her blackberries with George. George loved them!

Cannon Beach
Same bench that was there twelve years ago.
Ecola State Park
Samuel thought this mossy tree was pretty cool.
Finding treasures (anemones mostly) in the tide pools.
Enjoying some yummy ice cream
Haystack Rock. Amazingly huge.

Oregon Coast
Once we left Seattle we headed down the Oregon coast. We decided before we left for vacation that we would take a trip down memory lane and stay overnight along the coast. Twelve years ago we went on our honeymoon to the Oregon coast. Since we were going to be on vacation on our anniversary we thought it would be appropriate to revisit some places on the coast. We spent the night at a motel right on the beach in Rockaway Beach. It was so nice to fall asleep listening to the waves crash on the beach. The weather was again perfect. We took a stroll on the beach and George absolutely loved being in the sand. I can't think of a better way to spend my twelve year anniversary!

More of Seattle
The day after we arrived we took a nice walk to a couple of parks nearby. One park had some very unique play structures that I think were made more for the adults than for kids. This park also had an amazing view of downtown Seattle. It was the perfect day with perfect weather.

The next day we ventured over to the Seattle Aquarium. You can imagine how excited Samuel was to go there. He especially loved seeing the different sharks and the octopus.
After the aquarium we went to get something to eat. Samuel had been talking a lot about trying squid (calamari). So we decided to let him try it. He was funny with it. He ate it and although he looks like he doesn't like it in this picture, he says he does.
The next day we rode the ferry across Puget Sound to Bainbridge Island. The ferry ride in and of itself was pretty fun for the boys. Samuel thought it was pretty cool that cars could drive onto it. Again, some incredible views of Seattle.
The last evening spent in Seattle the boys played outside and had sword fights with Angie while the rest of us lounged around. A great way to spend our last evening there.
