Park City and Alpine Slides

A few weeks ago we met up with Jim's sister and family up in Park City. We spent the day at the Alpine Slides having a great time. It had been many years since we had been there and were surprised to see so many new things. It was great. We purchased an all day pass for Jim and Samuel and then a couple of ride passes for George and myself.

Initially Samuel only wanted to ride on the little rides - which worked out great because he was the only child there for a while so he would just tell the worker which of the four rides he wanted to go on. It was like his own personal amusement park - he was thrilled. The Merry Go Round was the first stop.

On this rocket ride he didn't want to move up or down so he sat in the back seat so that he didn't accidentally move the controller to go up.

On one of the many times he rode this ride the worker accidentally made his plane go up. He didn't notice at first and then realized how fun it was. After that he sat in the front and used the controller to go up and down. Funny kid.

We were able to finally talk Samuel into going on the Alpine Coaster. He had a blast on that as well.

I also took a ride on it at the very end of the day.
You sit in this cart and it is like a pulley that pulls you up to the top and then you coast down (you can control how fast or slow you go). I am not one who usually is afraid of heights, however, on my way up all of the carts stopped. My cart happened to stop at the steepest incline and I must admit I was a little nervous. Samuel kept moving around and I thought for sure we were going to fall backwards or tip off the track (not even possible though). We finally got going again and I did enjoy my ($$$) trip down. We sure had a great time with family!

I Can See Clearly Now

Saturday was spent washing windows on our main level. They were so dirty it was getting hard to see out of them. With the addition of a bird's nest in our backyard I guess every bird decided they needed to leave their mark on our window - gross! You can't see the bird stuff in the pictures very well, but trust me they got our window pretty good.


It is always nice to look out a freshly washed window without having to look around all the dirt. Now we just need to do the upstairs : ). After: The window is so clean you can actually see a reflection.
